Member of the Month

Congrats to Kevin Sarro on being our Athlete of the Month for December!
Check out a fun Q&A would did with Kevin here!

New Year Schedule Changes
Friday 1/1 – Gym Closed
Saturday 1/2 – Regular Schedule

December Athlete of the Month

Congrats to Colin Hamilton on being our December Athlete of the Month!
Colin is one of our newer members here at TILT II but it feels like he’s been around forever! He’s been a great new part to our evening crew here and has jumped right in the deep end with Crossfit! He’s been a quick learner, picking up new movements and pushing himself to improve but smart when it comes to listening to his body and knowing when to modify if needed. Colin is always interested in learning technique the best he possibly can and extremely coachable. All his hard work is clearly paying off already! If you don’t all ready, get to know him a little more with a little Q&A below!

When did you first start at TILT?
I started at TILT in July of 2021 based on a recommendation from Patrick Kent, an old friend from college.

What is your favorite food?
Steak is my favorite at the moment, but I hear a great ice cream place is opening near the gym soon and it may be a contender.

If you could choose a walkout theme song, what would it be?
Scotland the Brave. The bagpipe is always appropriate when working with unwieldy objects.

You just won a million dollars! What is the first thing you would purchase?!
A cabin on a lake somewhere…but only if my kids’ college tuition has already been paid off.

What is your favorite outdoor activity or hobby?\
I love to roll (and occasionally paddle) Greenland-style sea kayaks.

What is your ideal vacation place?
My ideal spot would be a remote wilderness lodge with very few people, but plenty of great food and wine.

If you had any advice to give someone thinking about trying TILT what would it be?
You are not competing against anyone else. Start slowly and work on developing good technique. Be sure to stretch…it helps a lot.

If there was a workout named “Colin” what movements would we see in it?
Avoiding all the complex movements I have not been able to master (yet), my workout would have to involve lots of rowing, running, and rope climbs.

December Athlete of the Month

Kevin Sarro!

Congrats to Kevin Sarro on being our Athlete of the Month for December!
Kevin is a dedicated early morning riser of the 5:30am class and works hard every time he comes in! We asked Kevin a few questions below to get to know him a little better! Check them out and make sure to congratulate Kevin if you see him!

1. When did you first start at TILT?
November or December 2018

2. What is your favorite food?
Good Pizza

3. If you could choose a walkout theme song, what would it be?
Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems.  Early 90’s Hip Hop is under appreciated.

4. You just won a million dollars! What is the first thing you would purchase?!
Clearly Mo’ Problems. A week on a beach with my girls not in 2020.

5. What is your favorite outdoor activity or hobby?
I love the beach, almost Gypsy like.

6. What is your ideal vacation place?
Beach Club Pool. I’m a Disney Geek.

7. If you had any advice to give someone thinking about trying TILT what would it be?
Stop thinking about it and just show up.  Let the coaches do the thinking for you and trust what they tell you. Get in a workout that is right for you and allows you to get up tomorrow and do it again.

New TILT II Class Procedures – Start 12/13

Indoor Workout Member Procedure:
**Beginning on Sunday, December 13th everyone will be required to wear a mask while inside the gym at all times. This change has been put into effect due to the recent restrictions on fitness centers made by Governor Baker.**
As a reminder, please review all of our class guidelines below.

  1. You must reserve your spot for class via TRIIB. Class reservations begin 72 hours prior to class start time.
  2. On the day of class, please wait in your car until 5 minutes before your class time.
  3. Put on your mask and walk through the front doors of TILT.
  4. When entering, please answer our Click HERE for the TILT COVID Questionnaire
  5. Use the provided hand sanitizer, grab a disinfecting wipe, and head to an open station. Once on a station, you must leave your mask on. The only time when you may take your mask off is when getting a drink. All stations are separated to ensure social distancing. Additionally, we have made partitions to create barriers between members.
  6. Wipe down the equipment you will be using for the workout. (The equipment will already have been wiped down prior to class as well)
  7. Have a totally awesome time throwing down with your friends!
  8. After the workout, grab another disinfecting wipe, and wipe down your equipment and area.
  9. Exit the building out of the door near the garage.
  10. See you tomorrow!

** REMINDER– IF YOU ARE FEELING SICK OR THINK YOU MAY HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO SOMEONE WITH COVID-19, OR YOU ARE AWAITING TEST RESULTS, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE GYM**

Open Gym– During open gym, there will also be designated stations for members spaced out for social distancing. The same procedures for classes will apply for open gym slots.

Indoor/Outdoor Class Checklist:

  1. Mask
  2. Water Bottle
  3. Yoga Mat/Towel (if you would like)

Indoor Facility Set-up
Each class has a capacity of 18 members, with their own individual work spaces. All workout stations are separated 14 feet apart from each other in front and back. In addition, partitions have been made to create a barrier between members side to side of one another. Cleaning will be done before and after classes, during off hours, and at night with our professional cleaning crew.

FAQs:

  1. Will the bathrooms be open? Yes- they will be open. Please remain 6 feet from others at all times.
  2. Will the showers be available for use? Due to the new mask protocol, the showers will now be closed at this time.
  3. Will the water fountain be open? Yes- for refills only. Please bring your own water bottle.
  4. What if there is running in the workout and social distancing is not possible? As stated before, masks must be worn inside. When running outside, please make sure your mask is pulled over your face when passing other athletes.
  5. Will we be using the pull-up bars/ring in classes? Pull-ups and bar/ring work will be limited in class workouts. However, if they are programmed, members will be socially distanced and will be required to wear a mask when on the bars/rings. As always, other alternatives can be provided. Members can also use the bars/rings during open gym.
  6. What if I would rather workout outside? With the unpredictable weather, snow, and ice, we will be holding all classes indoors.
  7. Are children allowed to sit in the lounge area while class is going on? Children will be allowed in the lounge area during class. All children must wear a mask at all times and be distanced 6 feet apart.
