Katrina DiGiacomo

When I was first introduced to CrossFit in May of 2015, I was training for my last competitive year as a gymnast. My coach brought me to bring a friend day at her box and I was instantly hooked. Prior to CrossFit, I was a competitive gymnast for 12 years, and in my final year of competing I decided to incorporate CrossFit into my everyday workout routine. During this year, I was also coaching both CrossFit and gymnastics. Doing CrossFit alongside gymnastics built both my mental and physical strength tremendously and helped with my overall performance in the sport.

As a coach, I am determined to create a positive environment for the members where they feel valued and supported. For me, CrossFit has been a place where I have been able to achieve my personal goals, as well as witness others achieve theirs, through the constant support that fills the gym. When members come up to me, excited to share how they have achieved a goal, it brings a smile to my face and makes being a coach the most rewarding job.

Playing sports and being active have always been a big part of my life. After graduating college in 2013 I still had the desire to compete and be physically fit, but I was not satisfied by the basic workouts at a typical gym. For me, I was missing the competitiveness, comradery, and encouragement I received when competing on a team. Then one day, my best friend introduced me to CrossFit and I was instantly hooked! I knew that I had found my passion and within the same year I became a CrossFit coach.

I feel lucky to have found CrossFit. It has given me strength, both mentally and physically, which I didn’t know I could achieve. Coaching others and seeing them beat their personal goals has been the most rewarding part of my fitness journey. CrossFit TILT is an unbelievable place and I am grateful that I have the opportunity to help shape and be a part of such an amazing community.
