Congrats to our March Member of the Month – Jono!
Find out more about Jono below…

How long have you been doing CrossFit and how did you start?
Stephanie bought me an introductory package some years ago at another gym.  I hated it!  Then almost two years ago, along with Brian’s help, Stephanie suckered me into TILT by having me come only on days with running components.  Next thing you know… I’m doing squat bear complexes….and I still don’t even know what that means!

If there was a Jono workout, what would be in it?
A beer mile would definitely be in it.  I like beer.  That aside, I like the more aerobic workouts.  Something with a row, some rope climbs, and maybe a few cleans.  Snatches are good too.  I like snatches!

Your favorite workout song/artist comes on mid workout, what is it?
I like working out to the Beasties.  Pass the Mic or Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun are among my favorites.  Rocket by Smashing Pumpkins or really anything off of Siamese Dream.  The first Clash album!

What is one of your favorite memories at TILT?
The first time I got up the rope would certainly be up there.  Thank you Erin!  That was a great sense of accomplishment.  Hitting 300lbs on the deadlift was cool too.  Beer pong at the holiday party a few years ago would be tops though!

What is one interesting fact that we may not know about you?
I wanted to be the scarecrow in the Maplewood Middle School (New Jersey) circa 1985 rendition of The Wizard of Oz.  I sang Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen a cappella.  Instead of appreciating my nuanced voice, they gave me the biggest non-singing part in the production:  The Wizard.  “I am Oz the great and powerful!  Who are you and why do you seek me?!?”
