Congrats to our March Member of the Month – Lianne Castelli !
Get to know a little bit about Lianne…

1. How did you get started with CrossFit?
One of my best friends from High School, Cathy (who was actually up here visiting a couple of weeks ago), introduced me to CrossFit.  She had started back in NJ, and I had just moved up to Massachusetts after graduating from Community College in 2012.  I started working at the daycare down the road, Next Generation, and after her convincing me for a couple of weeks, I decided to come in and give CrossFit Union a try one night.  First class and I was hooked – fell in love with the coaches and all the members at the time quickly.  After going back to school to finish my degree, I would always come back during my breaks and kept up with it as much as I could while I was away.  Being back up in Massachusetts full-time I could not imagine my life without CrossFit, and all of you!  Watching the changes our box has gone through this past year has truly been amazing – the coaching, the people, the facility just keeps improving and I love it even more than when I first started.  It’s definitely great when you’ve continued doing something for many years and still love to do it day in and day out – it’s what I look forward to everyday after work.  So thank you Tilt II, for being my home away from home!
2. If there was a “Lianne” workout, what would it be?
Hmm…good question!  It would definitely be a team workout – I have thoroughly enjoyed our team of 3 workouts lately – I feel I always push myself a little harder to not let my team down!  Shoutout to my team Fifty Shades of Grey!!  So maybe something like the following:

3. What does a day in the life of Lianne look like?
A typical day for me is waking up around 515/530 AM every morning, rolling out of bed and doing my daily routine of hair and make up to get ready for work.  I get dressed, pack my gym bag for the day, head downstairs and pack my lunch.  I am usually out the door between 645/650 to arrive at work by 8.  I work for a Financial Advisor at Integrated Financial Partners out in Waltham.  I’m usually at work until 4/430 everyday, and then I head right to TILT to take the 530 PM class.  After that I have my 40 minute drive back home where I have dinner, shower and repeat the cycle.  Wouldn’t have it any other way!
4. Your favorite song comes on during a workout, what is it?
Not to piggy back off Jenn’s response of Danza Kuduro (although this one does get me pumped), I’d have to say anything I can sing to (which is just about anything that comes on) – but Jason Derulo or Britney Spears is always a hit for me – A little Britney helped me PR on my snatch for 17.3!
5. What is your favorite movie?
Favorite Movie – The Guardian
6. Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks?
Not a big coffee drinker but I’d have to go with Dunkin Donuts.
7. How did the 2017 CrossFit Games Open go? What was your favorite workout?
This year, the open was awesome.  I really enjoyed doing it alongside all my fellow athletes.  Everyone this year did great and I loved watching everyone get after it during FNL.  For me, it went a lot better than last year, as I did them all scaled except for 16.1, and this year I completed all workouts RX, even though there were movements I could not complete.  I think my mentality was better this year and I had more confidence with myself, which I think helped me overall – I was way more excited for it this year than last, and I’m glad I signed up for it.  With that said, I had many PRs, like doing Chest to Bar Pull-Ups, Toes to Bar, and all the snatch work that was present this year.  Also, I’m pretty happy after looking at the stats and coming in in the Top 25% of athletes WorldWide!  All we can ask for is to see improvement, right? 🙂
My favorite workout: While each one this year had something I enjoyed doing, my favorite one was probably 17.5 for the sole reason that I was able to complete the whole thing RX in its entirety before the time cap of 40 minutes, and I was able to do all the DUBS!!
8. If you had to eat just one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If you asked me this question back in December/early January, I probably would have said pizza – it’s been my favorite food ever since I can remember!  But since we started the nutrition challenge, my whole view on food has changed.  So now, a meal I couldn’t live without would be a nice Filet Mignon with a side of sweet potatoes, asparagus wrapped with prosciutto and some zucchini!
9. Any final thoughts on being named member of the month?
I’d just like to thank you for naming me the member of the month! Being a part of this gym is one of the best things I could have ever done for myself.  I’ve met many amazing friends, and having everyone push you and wanting to see you succeed is what keeps me coming back.  Thanks TILT II for allowing me to be a part of this amazing CrossFit family! Looking forward to building many more memories, parties and getting stronger with all of you!
