3 rounds for time:
21 Kettlebell Swings @ 53/35
Todays’ workout is Helen, commonly known as the CrossFit Fitness Test. The stimulus is short and fast, with times ranging from about 8 to 14 minutes. We’re ideally picking a weight on the kettlebell swings that allows us to go unbroken, as well as a mod on the pull-ups that allows us to move quickly. This is definitely not the day for banded pull-ups, and may be a good workout to choose jumping pull-ups over ring rows. Because it’s a shorter day, we also do not want to reduce distance on the run. If we’re running, let’s run the full 400m. If that’s really going to be too much, we can run a shorter distance and make up the rest of it on the bike. Overall we’re looking to achieve a high heart rate throughout today’s workout and we should really feel that we’re pushing the effort on the second and third runs.
Question of the Day:
Who’s a fictional character that everyone thinks of as a hero but actually isn’t?
