Find out a little more about Nate…
I was a distance swimmer from the age of 7 until I hung up my goggles in 2010 at the age of 36. I decided that I wanted to translate long distance swimming into long distance running and finally “learn” how to run.  I had always tried running but, because I had no idea what I was doing, it was always a struggle and I was always getting injured.  So, I took on a coach in 2010 and he not only completely transformed me into a runner, he taught me mindfulness and efficiency as I prepared for my first 100 in 2012. Nowadays, at age 47, I am a running ambassador for Team RunRun and I am coached by Matt Urbanski (2021 Tarawera 100 Winner) who has continued to level up my game (In the past 6 months I have crushed my PRs in the marathon, 50k, 50m and 100k distances after making new changes to my stride).  Even 11 years later, I find that I am still very much of a student of the sport and it helps that I am my own best test subject.  In 2021 I am focused on 8 major races including Anchor Down 24 Hour in August and Midstate Massive 100 in October.  I am also planning several solo long runs including a 120 from my house to Orleans, MA in June.  I have come to learn that running well involves hard work but it also requires attention to detail and willingness to change and try new approaches.  I love sharing the information and secrets that I have come to learn and that have been passed down to me over the years and am psyched to be able to positively impact others in running.
