Find out more about Rachel below..

1. How did you get started with CrossFit?
Joshua was encouraging me to try CrossFit for about a year before I actually started. There were only a handful of boxes in the area at the time. I told him as soon as they open a box in Sudbury I would join. That box was CrossFit Union in May of 2013.  I really didn’t know anything about what I was getting into. I was very out of shape.  I went to the CrossFit Union open house. There were a few body weight movements in the work out including burpees.  I remember could barely finish the burpees and Robyn Betts finished the last 5 with me.  The comradery was amazing. I was hooked at that moment and have never looked back.

2. What does a day in the life of Rachel look like?
Train, Play, Time With Family, Repeat. About two months ago I started working out with the 5:30AM crew so my days are fun but long. I am up about 4:15am, go to 5:30am class. I try to sneak in some of the CompTrain Masters work after class if I can without being too late for work. I have been a little late the past few weeks . I have to admit.  From the box I head off to work at Hasbro in Pawtucket RI. I have a fun job as a Marketing Director for our Girls and Gaming brands like My Little Pony and Monopoly so my day is filled in some way playing with toys and games whether that is  product design meetings, creative review meetings, play testing with kids,  etc.  I get home from work between 6:30 and 7:00, play with the dog, have dinner with Larry and sometimes Josh if he is home and then start to get ready for the next day to do it all over again.

3. What is your favorite workout?
My favorite workout would be anything with wallballs, rowing, deadlifts, overhead squats and snatches.  I love those movements.

4. You are always so positive! Who and what inspires you to be the best person you could be?
I am an upbeat person. I have a lot of energy and passion for the things that I love. My family, friends, CrossFit, Tilt 2, making toys and game for kids. They all inspire me to show up, be in the moment and do the best I can for those around me.

5. If you won the lottery what would be your first “selfish” purchase?
I was actually thinking about this last week because I was hoping to win the big $700M+ Powerball jackpot. My first selfish purchase would be a fleet of cars. Porsche, Range Rover and Maserati

6. What is your favorite TV show and why?
I talk about The Game of Thrones all the time and I do enjoy the show but my favorite TV show is Seinfeld. I watch Seinfeld over and over again.  I really like comedy. Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld write great dialogue. The character George, who is playing Larry David in the show reminds me of Larry Hoagland!!

Tell us 3 things we may not know about you!
I am a little chatty so there may not be three things people don’t know but here goes. I am part Cherokee and part French. My maiden name is Duzant. I almost drowned when I was 8 years old.  I could not swim and for some reason thought it would be a good idea to jump off the public pool diving board in to 12ft of water. It was a stupid idea.
